One of the focus points of this year’s School Development Plan is Growth Mindset.
As parents and teachers we want all of our pupils to achieve their very best and research tells us that one of the biggest influences on whether we will be an achiever or not is our Mindset.
If we believe that intelligence is fixed and you are either good at something, or not, then why would you put in the effort to improve because it is not going to make any difference.
The reality is that the brain is like a muscle. It grows, develops and indeed becomes more intelligent when mistakes are made and then corrected through feedback.
