For those families who have been offered a place at Lambs Lane School for Reception in September we will try to give you as much information as we can to help your child start school successfully. Please bear in mind that the confirmed list of new starters is not sent over from Wokingham Borough Council until June. Once we have this list further information will be sent to parents.
The Reception Class will be in the Owls classroom, which has it's own outside play area and garden! It can be accessed from the main playground via a gate. This is where parents and carers drop off in the morning and pick up from after school.
New Parents meetings will be held in school on:
To Be Confirmed - this meeting is aimed at Parents who already have children in school. Uniform will be available to view (both new and pre-loved.)
To Be Confirmed - this meeting will include a tour of the school for anyone who has not previously visited and will give you the opportunity to view uniform (both new and pre-loved.)
New intake transition days:
To Be Confirmed - 1.15pm to 3.15pm. Drop off and pick up at the Owls Garden.
To Be Confirmed - 9.30am to lunch time. Parents are invited to eat lunch with their child, and try out a school dinner.
The class teacher will visit any children in a setting (e.g. pre-school or nursery) before they start school. Term. Home visits with any child not attending a setting will also take place before they start school.
The Reception class will start school on either Monday 7th September or Tuesday 8th September. We stagger start times to help children familiarise themselves with the classroom and settle in.
You will be able order your child's uniform at the new Parents meetings or straight after. Pre-loved uniform will also be available for you to buy at these meetings. We will try to have any ordered uniform available ready for collection on the transition days.
We offer both before and after school wrap around care. If you are interested in using this service, you may want to register your child before September. All the information you need can be found here: Click Here
We operate an informal one-way system to try and manage congestion outside school both in the morning and afternoon. Click here to see how it works.
