For those families who have been offered a place at Lambs Lane School for Reception in September we will try to give you as much information as we can to help your child start school successfully. Please bear in mind that the confirmed list of new starters is not sent over from Wokingham Borough Council until June. Once we have this list further information will be sent to parents.
The Reception Class will be in the Owls classroom, which has it's own outside play area and garden! It can be accessed from the main playground via a gate. This is where parents and carers drop off in the morning and pick up from after school.
New Parents meetings:
Unfortunately due to the Coronavirus Pandemic 2020 we are not going to be able to hold our normal new parents meetings. As soon as we have the confirmed list of new pupils from Wokingham Borough Council we will be posting parents and carers all the information you need to help your child prepare for starting school in September.
New intake transition days:
Ordinarily we would arrange these towards the end of the Summer Term in July, but due to the current restrictions we can't do this. So, as soon as we have guidelines from the Department for Education as to how we will be returning in September we will plan your child's settling in days.
Update 10/07/20 - The School Senior Leadership Team is working through the guidance sent to schools and planning for September. As soon as we have firm plans and arrangements for our new Owls in place, we will be in touch with parents.
Reception Class Teacher:
We have a fabulous new Reception Teacher starting in September too. Miss Gascoyne is really excited to be joining Lambs Lane here's a little bit more from Miss Gascoyne:
Hello my name is Emily Gascoyne,
I am really looking forward to meeting you and your children in September, it is a shame that I can't meet you all due to the current restrictions in place. A little bit about me, I live with my fiancé Luke and my very much-loved cat Teddy. In my spare time I enjoy seeing my family and friends and making special memories. I am a huge Disney fan who loves a good song and dance. I hope you have a lovely summer, enjoy the sunshine. See you all in September ????

Our school milk scheme. Did you know our school has a school milk scheme?
By registering your child for our school milk scheme they will receive a 189ml (third of a pint) carton of semi-skimmed milk every day. This is delivered fresh and chilled to their classroom every day.
How much does it cost? Thanks to government subsidies, school milk is free for all under-fives and is subsided at around £15 a term for children aged five or older.
Why should I register my child? School milk provides your child with essential nutrients such as calcium and protein, for strong, healthy teeth and bones. It is also rehydrating and energy boosting, helping to bridge the long gap between breakfast and lunch so children stay focused.
How do I register my child? If your child is under five- Go to www.coolmilk.com or pick up a form from school. Just register by a Tuesday for your child’s free milk to start the following week.
