What do Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, a penny-farthing and a Formula One racing car have in common? The answer is the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu and that is where the Owls went for a visit on Friday 27th April.
Following an exciting topic on transport (that included learning what was under the bonnet of their cars, a traffic survey and a visit from a very shiny motorbike), they spent the day looking round the museum with two ladies who told them all about the development of the motor car. They also had the opportunity of dressing up, sitting on a 1950’s London bus as well as going for a ride in a vintage car and on the monorail!
Despite the rain there was of course the obligatory visit to the transport themed play park, they really didn’t seem to notice the soggy slide! The trip was a very successful culmination to a topic the children have enjoyed. Beaulieu is well worth a visit!
