Year 5 Luckley House 5-a-side Football competition

On Wednesday 17th October some year 5 boys were picked to represent Lambs Lane at the Luckley House 5-a-side Football competition. All players and teams fought hard in an exhilarating competition.

Our first game looked set for a thrilling 0-0 but thanks to a great save from Ben and a last second goal from Trystan the game ended 1-0 to Lambs Lane. Our scoring did not stop there. In our second game Sam managed to shoot and score past a fantastic opposition goalie although the game ended 2-1 to the opposing side. In game 3, Matthew and Charlie communicated well as goalie and defender and managed to stop many threats coming from the opposition, ending the game 0-1. Game 4 was our best performance yet with both Sammy and George's wonder strike from outside the box sealing the victory for Lambs Lane.

With 2 victories and 2 losses we managed to finish the group in second place which took us to the top ‘Cup’ Competition. Playing against Binfield School our team fought well but came second to an experienced side. This confirmed a 3rd place finish from 10 teams for Lambs Lane. All players represented the school in a fantastic way and as a Coach I am extremely pleased of how our players conducted themselves on and off the pitch.
