School Lunches & Milk

Lambs Lane are delighted to be able to offer a hot school lunch to all children at school through our providers, Caterlink. Menus rotate on a three week basis throughout each term, and are changed seasonally. The children have a daily option of either a set hot meal, vegetarian alternative or jacket potato with a choice of topping. During the Summer Term children can also order a packed lunch, a meat and vegetarian option is available everyday. Children place their lunch order each morning in their classrooms and the food is all cooked fresh daily on site.

Universal Infant Free School Meals.

Universal Free School Meals were introduced in September 2014. This means that all children in Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 are eligible for a free school meal every day. Naturally, we hope that parents of children in these year groups will take advantage of this fantastic opportunity for their child to enjoy a free hot meal every day.

Free School Meals.

All children may also be eligible for Free School Meals, a scheme by which the school attracts funding from the government called Pupil Premium. As well as Free School Meals, this funding is targeted at the registered pupils to help support their education in a variety of ways. If you think you may be eligible for funding, please register your child for this benefit. To find out if you are eligible for Free School Meals please see the information for Parents document below. Please complete the form below (hard copies are also available from the school office) and return to the school office.

The cost of a school lunch is £2.10 and must be paid for in advance through the online payment system at School Money or you can pay by card and exact cash at the school office.

If you have not paid for a lunch that is ordered, you will receive a phone call asking you to either pay online or bring in a packed lunch.

Packed Lunches

Children are welcome to bring a packed lunch to school but please can parents ensure that packed lunches contain a sandwich or savoury alternative (e.g. pasta salad or rice salad) and some healthy extras (e.g. fruit or vegetables, cheese, yoghurt, cereal bar). Water is available for all children in the dining hall at the tables, but if an additional drink is included this must not be fizzy.

Please keep crisps and chocolate snacks to a absolute minimum and NO NUTS are permitted in packed lunches due to allergy risks. This includes most chocolate spreads and some cereal bars, please be vigilant.

School Milk

Quote from Cool Milk, our milk providers
“School milk is excellent as a mid-morning drink. It provides a nutritional boost and keeps children hydrated between breakfast and lunch, helping them to concentrate and learn.“
